Holly

Handler: Julie Kniseley

We adopted Holly from the Oak Ridge, Tennessee city (kill) shelter in September 2014. She is part beagle and part bull terrier – a very sweet and loving little pocket pittie. Although we hadn’t met her, she seemed like a wonderful dog that would be a good companion for our kelpie Daisy and a great addition to our family. The write-ups by a foster owner and her volunteer advocate described her perfectly – she’s a dog who loves everyone and wants to be loved. We spoke to her volunteer advocate, and she agreed that it would be a good fit.

As luck would have it, our neighbors were planning a trip to Louisville, and they agreed to bring her back with them is we could get her to Nashville. A friend who lives near the shelter picked Holly up and drove her to Nashville, and she met our neighbors on their way home to Austin. Holly sat on my neighbor’s lap the rest of the way home.

Holly loves people and loves to snuggle. She is very playful and a little mischievous – we have to make sure our socks are put away or she will steal them. She insists on greeting everyone she sees with a wagging tail and a big smile. She is also very smart and easy to train. Her favorite activity (besides being cuddled) is chasing the sprinkler back and forth in the yard.
