Gypsy

Handler: Robert Cardwell and Terry Hinojosa-Cardwell

Gypsy and her 9 puppies arrived in Austin January 2005 as part of a group brought in from Hurricane Katrina by Lee Mannix. She started out as a foster for 2 years before being formally adopted by her handlers. They tried to find her a forever home but she kept coming back – little did they know she had chosen her forever home and they were just slow on the uptake to make it official. This young lady is quite a survivor. She survived a hurricane, being out on her own for at least 2months before Best friends rescued her, a minimum of 6 bullet wounds, Rocky mountain spotted fever, and a very bad case of heart worms. You will be glad to know she now sleeps under the covers on pillows on the bed in the master bedroom. She clearly has earned it. Other than her divine canines work, Gypsy enjoys chasing squirrels in the back yard and agility. Her biggest love however, is working with children nothing can make her happier.
